Welcome to the home of beer! There are many small and larger regional breweries with their unique specialties in the Altmühltal Nature Park. They are, of course, made in accordance with the strict Bavarian purity rules.
In Germany, beer is only allowed to be made with hops, water, malt, and yeast. High-quality hops and barley are grown right on the spot in the Altmühltal Nature Park. The brewers in the region reveal a wide range of flavors in these few ingredients: from the world’s oldest monastery brewery in Weltenburg to the local bio brewery, each master brewer has his unique formulas and secrets. You could try to figure them out during brewery tours or beer sampling. Alternatively, you may just pair these brewers’ distinctive brews with delectable traditional fare.
